Terms of Service

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account on the Rowing Power Index (“RPI” or the “Service”). If you are under 18, you represent that you have a parent or guardian’s consent to use the Service. By creating an account you confirm that you meet these requirements.

2. Account & Username

You can create an account either with an email address and password or through a third-party sign-in provider (Apple, Google, GitHub, or Discord). You may register only one account per person, and you must provide an accurate email address that you control. You are responsible for keeping your password and any linked sign-in provider secure, and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.

You may optionally claim a public username. Usernames must be 3–20 lowercase alphanumeric characters or single underscores. We reserve the right to reject or reset any username at our sole discretion.

You may change your username once every 60 days. When you change your username, the previous username is held for 30 days before it becomes available to others.

3. Acceptable Use

When choosing a username or writing a bio, you agree not to:

• Use slurs, hate speech, or discriminatory language.
• Impersonate another person, team, or organization.
• Include personal information of others (doxxing).
• Link to malware, phishing, or sexually explicit content.
• Infringe on trademarks or copyrights.
• Engage in harassment, threats, or intimidation.

We may remove, rename, hide, or suspend accounts that violate these guidelines, without notice.

4. User Content

You retain ownership of content you submit (usernames, bios, picks). By submitting content, you grant RPI a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive license to display it on the Service. You may delete your account at any time to revoke this license going forward.

5. Moderation & Takedown

We reserve the right to rename, hide, or suspend any account, reset usernames or avatars, and remove any user content at our sole discretion, without prior notice. Moderation actions may include hiding profiles from public view or removing leaderboard entries.

6. Username Release Policy

When a username is released (by user rename, admin reset, or account deletion), it may be claimed by another user after a 30-day cooldown period. We are not responsible for third-party links that reference a username you previously held.

7. Predictions & Disclaimer

Race predictions, power ratings, simulations, and pick’em results on this site are for informational and entertainment purposes only. They are not investment advice, not affiliated with any governing body, and carry no guarantee of accuracy. The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied.

8. Pick’em

The Service offers pick’em selections on upcoming races. Submissions may be subject to tier-based limits. Points and rankings derived from picks are for entertainment only and, by default, carry no prize, payout, or real-world value. Any promotional prizes that may be offered from time to time are governed by Section 9 below.

We reserve the right to correct, recompute, or void pick results in the event of a data error or race correction.

9. Promotions & Prizes

From time to time we may run promotional games tied to the Service — for example, prizes awarded to top finishers in a pick’em pool, a Games event, or another specific prediction contest (each, a “Promotion”). Promotions are run for fun and engagement, are not a lottery, sweepstakes entry fee, or wager, and are not available where prohibited by law.

Minimum-participation requirement. No prize will be awarded for any Promotion unless, at the time of the associated event, both of the following are true:

• the Service has at least 50 active paid subscribers (JV-tier or higher), and
• at least 50 eligible participantshave entered the specific prediction, pick’em pool, or game to which the prize is attached.

If either threshold is not met at the time the event begins or locks (whichever is earlier), no prize will be awarded for that Promotion, even if a winner can otherwise be identified. Eligibility, entry windows, the prize description, any tax responsibility of the winner, and any tier or geographic restriction will be disclosed on the page advertising the Promotion. Employees, contractors, administrators, and their immediate family members are not eligible to win.

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, void, or cancel any Promotion at our sole discretion, including in the event of a data error, race correction, suspected manipulation, or failure of the eligibility thresholds above. Our determination of winners and prize awards is final.

10. Account Termination

You may delete your account at any time through your account settings. We may terminate or suspend access to accounts that violate these Terms or for any other reason at our discretion. Upon termination, your username is released and your public profile is removed.

11. Copyright & DMCA

If you believe content on the Service infringes your copyright, please reach us through the contact page with a description of the copyrighted work, the allegedly infringing content, and your contact information. We will respond in accordance with applicable law.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated “Last updated” date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes arising under or related to these Terms shall be resolved in the courts of the state in which the operator resides.
